Chipping pre-coated with B82 binder
then flood with hot binder at appropriate temperature
and gently rake the mixed material to facilitate
binder penetration. |

| Precoat selected chippings with binder
and pour into top layer. Compact with wacker. Then
once compacted, screed over the surface with B82
binder. |

| Reopen to traffic only when cooled.
Generally the cooling rate is 1 hour of cooling
for every 50mm of surfacing depth, but is dependent
on ambient temperature. |

| Zebraflex B82 Bridgejoint Compound |
 |
| ¡@ |
| Zebraflex B82 bridgejoint compound is a flexible
hot-poured bitumen/rubber material, for use in all
types of bridgejoints and construction joints where
an effective seal combined with carriageway reinstatement
is required. |
| ¡@ |
¡@ |
It is composed of a homogenous
mixture of a special high grade of synthetic rubber,
chemical additives, bitumen and fillers, and has
the following distinct advantages: |
| - |
Very high resistance to flow,
at service temperature up to 60¢XC, therefore
effectively resisting tracking. |
| - |
Withstands joint extensions without de-bonding,
both a low temperatures and at ambient temperatures
under wet conditions. |
| - |
Excellent pourability, without any segregation
of the incorporated rubber, at temperatures
well below the maximum permissible heating
temperature of the bitumen/rubber mixture. |
|
| Zebraflex B82 bridgejoint compound
is also resistant to dilute mineral acids and alkalis,
but like most bitumen/rubber compounds softens and
swells when in contact with hydrocarbon solvents,
mineral or vegetable oils and fats. ¡@ |
